Having Bees at Work could boost your eco-credentials by increasing the biodiversity of your local area.
But how does it work?
Honeybees are extremely efficient pollinators, and the service they provide to flowering plants and trees is second to none. By having colonies of managed honeybees on your site, you are showcasing your commitment to environmental sustainability goals.
First, we will visit your site and assess its suitability.
Beehives can be kept anywhere, even on rooftops - all we need is a patch of even ground with good vehicle access, at least 5m x 3m.
That un-kempt patch behind the storage shed? Perfect.
Then, we will install hive stands, and bring your bees!
We suggest that most areas will happily support a minimum of 2 beehives, and a maximum of 6.
Once the beehives are in place, we will do the rest of the work.
Our year-round management service includes all aspects of honeybee husbandry to keep them healthy and thriving, while your team can enjoy watching the bees working to improve your local environment.
All of the honey produced by your bees is harvested and processed by us, returned to your company in jars, to distribute as you wish.
Pollination:
Honeybees are prolific pollinators. By aiding the pollination process, honeybees support a wide variety of plant species. This, in turn, fosters greater biodiversity in the ecosystem, providing habitats and food sources for other organisms, including birds, insects, and mammals.
Pollinated plants can produce more seeds and fruits, ensuring the survival and spread of various plant species. This enhances the overall health and resilience of the ecosystem.
Biodiversity:
Diverse ecosystems are more resilient to climate change. Honeybee pollination helps maintain this diversity, supporting ecosystems that can better withstand environmental stresses such as droughts and floods.
Conservation & Education:
Maintaining honeybee colonies can raise awareness about the importance of pollinators and the need for conservation efforts. Honeybee colonies provide a unique opportunity for educational programs, allowing people to learn about bee biology, ecology, and the importance of pollinators in sustaining life on Earth
In summary, honeybees play a vital role in promoting environmental ecology and diversity. Their pollination activities support plant health, enhance biodiversity, improve soil quality, increase agricultural yields, and contribute to the overall stability and resilience of ecosystems. By hosting honeybee colonies, landowners can actively contribute to these ecological benefits.
By hosting honeybee colonies on your premises, not only will you be actively contributing to environmental sustainability, but you'll also unlock a wealth of opportunities for your team.
Throughout the year, we offer engaging educational talks and hands-on workshops tailored to your employees. These sessions provide invaluable insights into the vital role of pollinators in our ecosystem and demonstrate practical steps everyone can take to support biodiversity.
Additionally, interacting with beehives can be a therapeutic and enriching experience, boosting overall wellness and fostering a sense of community and purpose within your team.
This initiative not only enhances your company's sustainability credentials but also cultivates a healthier, more informed, and environmentally conscious workplace.
